Llamas are super trendy! Your group will love a llama themed craft week – filled with so many simple DIY ideas and projects for any age group. We’ve shared our favorites below.
Llama Craft Projects
Velvet Art Fabric Llama Pouch
This fabric llama pouch is a great coloring project for most ages with dozens of uses. Kids can use it to store markers, colored pencils, drawing supplies and more – it also zips! Great for groups, camps, and recreational organizations. Add glitter, sequins, and gems using permanent fabric glue for an extra special touch! These pouches can be colored with markers or fabric paint. You can also tie-dye them – a fun idea for summer camp!
Ceramic Bisque Llama
Your group can decorate their own puffy llama with this Color-Me™ Ceramic Bisque Llama pack of 12. The bisque ceramic can be colored with paints (we love this pastel paint pack!), markers, and more. Look how adorable they are when they are finished!
Mini Llama Poster
Even though this pack of mini velvet posters includes several other designs, we still had to feature it for a llama themed craft! The pack comes with a total of 100 posters, with 10 each of 10 designs, including a llama. These make fun projects for kids or adults – just color in the lines with markers or colored pencils, using the black velvet as a guide.

Finger Puppet Llamas
Use our “horse” shaped paper finger puppets to make adorable llamas! This is such a great craft activity where kids can use their creativity and imagination for dramatic play. We love these llamas made by I Heart Crafty Things – she suggests a DIY version on her blog. You can use pom poms, markers, glitter, and other craft materials to make your llamas colorful and fun!
Materials:
Paper Plate Llama
There are so many fun options for making llamas using paper plates! Check out the creative ideas below. The cute paper plate llama faces by Crafts On Sea allow you to use some fun craft items, like colorful tassels, pom poms, and craft trims, along with construction paper for the features!
For a fun painting craft, we love the muli-color paper plate llamas by Handmade Charlotte. And for a Valentine or Thank You gift, use the template from Kids Craft Room!

Party Llama
We created a party llama in this tutorial on how to make Party Animals using kraft cards! This is a super creative way to turn chipboard into a fun and entertaining work of art. We love how the pom poms and party hats add flare.
Paper Roll Llama
Use paper rolls to create these 3D llamas that stand up themselves! The best part is this craft from Mermag blog is made from recycled materials. Use cardboard pieces, like a cereal boxs, for the head and legs. Paint the llama with acrylic paint. Make sure an adult uses a cutting knife to make the slits to insert the pieces into the paper roll.
Materials:
- Recycled cardboard
- Recycled paper rolls (or craft tubes)
- Acrylic paint
- Markers
- Craft knife
Llama Vase
Create your own llama vase using air dry clay! We love how the flowers really add color and give the illusion that the llama is wearing a beautiful crown. View the tutorial from A Beautiful Mess to find out how to make this work of art. You can use a vase or jar for this project.
Materials:
Crinkle Paper Llama
We love this Crinkle Paper Llama from Glued to My Crafts blog that combines crafting with a sensory experience! Fill a sandwich bag with shredded paper, then add ears and a mouth cut out of construction paper. Add some details with sharpie or markers. Now kids can feel the bag for an added tactile sensory option!
Materials:
- Sandwich bags
- Shredded paper
- Construction paper
- Wiggly eyes
- Marker
Make some DIY crafts using llama themed duct tape! Duck Brand Tapes are ideal for crafting, decorating, color-coding, scrapbooking – any imaginative project. You can make a purse, bookmark, belt, and other fun projects. We also love that the tape says “NO PROB LLAMA”
We hope you enjoy all of these fun Llama crafts!
