Help your residents celebrate the beauty of spring with fun activities that feature flowers! With warmer days ahead and National Garden Week coming up in early June, it’s the perfect time to bring the colors and joy of blooming flowers indoors. Invite residents to participate in flower crafts, flower games, and flower art that encourage creativity and connection.

Flower Crafts

Painting Flower Pots

Provide residents with plastic flower pots that they can paint and decorate before filling with flowers or a plant for their room.

Flower Chimes

Invite residents to color flower chimes and other spring chimes to hang outdoors. First, have residents paint their wooden shape before threading the cording through the wind chimes and attaching it to the wooden shape. Hang the finished chimes near your windows so that residents can enjoy the sounds this spring.

Flower Games

Blind Jigsaw

Invite residents to play a blind jigsaw puzzle game, in which pairs of residents work together to try to assemble a flower jigsaw puzzle without looking at the picture first.

Flower Match

As a fun one-on-one activity, help a resident improve their matching skills as they use the magnetic flower pieces to replicate the group of four flowers on their card. In addition, use this game as a fun competitive activity as you time each resident to see how long it takes them to use the pieces to replicate the four flowers on their card.

Flower Art

Paint by Sticker

Show residents how to assemble paint by sticker flowers, in which residents peel stickers and place them in the correct place on their sticker sheet. Once the sticker sheets have been filled, hang the finished artwork on your Activity Room wall.

Flower Painting

Take residents outdoors to the back patio to plant the flowers that they see onto their canvas. For the activity, set objects on the patio tables that residents can lean their canvases on as they paint. Then supply residents with colorful paints to paint one of the flowers that they see in the backyard. For an alternative, you can have residents do this fun Flower String Pulling Art on canvas!
