Lots of kids and teens are anxious and fearful. They may worry about things that are understandable, like taking a test or riding a roller coaster, but they may also have excessive worry about things that don't make sense to most of us, like clowns, germs, or even just going to school. Some kids and teens seem to worry all the time, and this makes life pretty hard. This game was developed by Lawrence E. Shapiro, Ph.D., an internationally recognized expert on emotional intelligence in children. The game teaches players four different techniques to confront and overcome their fears and worries. The four card types include: Face Your Fears, Understanding Yourself, Relaxation, and Change Your Thoughts. This simple game can help. It includes 101 cards to help kids and teens change their irrational automatic thoughts to thoughts that are realistic and helpful. The Wheel of Relaxation is used to help players practice relaxation and self-calming techniques so that they can more easily face their fears. 2 -6 players, ages 8+.
