This lightweight foam basketball is a great training ball. Intermediate size ball has a 28.5" circumference. This size ball is most often used by boys 8 to 12 and girls 10 and up. Made from a lively molded foam, the ball rebounds almost as well as traditional inflated basketballs. The slightly reduced rebound will force users to bend a little lower and use a bit more force when practicing their dribbling skills, both of which are excellent ball handling habits. Because it is made of foam, the ball also makes less noise when dribbled so that it can be used in homes or other locations without disturbing others. Looking to make your team learn to pass the ball to advance it up the court rather than dribble? Then this ball with its limited rebound characteristics can be a great practice tool. At about 11 ounces this ball is about 45% lighter than a similar sized rubber ball, so it is also a great training tool for kids as young as 5 years old. The lightweight means they can shoot it further and won't have to worry about missing a pass or a rebound.

NOTE: If the initial rebound is not as high as desired, try stepping on it several times and it should get a little livelier.
