How to Keep Children’s Visits at Your Senior Living Facility More Fun

senior living kids games

Are you tasked with providing independent games and activities for your residents to play with their visiting grandchildren. If so, then not to worry. Simply take a look at the following fun products that you can stock your Activity Room game center with so that visiting grandchildren can easily find appropriate activities that they can play with Grandma and Grandpa.

Physical Games

Collect fun games that visiting kids can easily play with Grandma and Grandpa indoors or in the backyard, like a toss and catch set, a Toss-n-Talk ball or a bean bag Tic-Tac-Toe game.

Other fun games that work well indoors or outdoors include a washer toss game, a chicken toss game, and a rubber horseshoe game.

Highly Cognitive Games

For the grandchildren that are a bit older, be sure to have a variety of fun logic games that they can play with Grandma and Grandpa, like the classic triangle game to see who can make the most jumps and remove the most pegs.

Other fun highly cognitive games that teens can play with your residents include a variety of large-print puzzles, like word search, crossword, and sudoku.

Tactile Games

For the younger children, provide more tactile activities that can keep the attention of the youngsters for longer periods of time. For instance, provide fun puzzles with larger pieces for the younger children to complete with Grandma and Grandpa. Additionally, stock up on small tubs of Play-Doh that both kids and residents can enjoy – whether it’s playing a game of Play-Doh Pictionary or making statues of themselves.

Board Games

Finally, encourage fun family nights for your residents and their family members by stocking the gaming shelves with classic board games like Jeopardy, Monopoly, and Sorry. In addition, add in a few newer games that the kids can teach Grandma and Grandpa, like Sequence and Jenga.
