Start out by painting close to the lines that are raised until the area is completely painted. When you use other colors be sure to lightly brush them into other areas of the pen holder to create dimension. Rinse your brush when changing colors. Use a paper towel to wipe off any drips or excess paint. Make sure paint is completely dry before painting another facet. For best results let paint dry over night.
