The Advanced (9-12) curriculum framework guides students in planning and decision-making so they can live fit and healthy lifestyles. Students observe how their nutrition and daily habits affect their health, performance, and appearance. Activities designed for high school students give higher-level content and allow for periodic self-evaluations that enable students to observe their progress in maintaining or improving the five components of fitness. At the conclusion of this program, students have the skills to evaluate their own behaviors and design a plan of action to improve or maintain their health and fitness. The Advanced Program allows students to exit with a personalized fitness plan for each component of health-related fitness. The Advanced Program includes a manual (over 400 pages, 14 instructional units) and a resource CD with printable teaching materials. The Advanced Manual builds off of the foundation of the principles found in the Intermediate Manual and is primarily used as a high school physical education curriculum.
