What is Edible Education® ?
Edible Education® brings cooking to the classroom! The educational hands-on mobile kitchen cart is equipped with everything you need to get kids cooking and will change the way your students view food. The curriculum, cart and lessons are designed to give students confidence in the kitchen and help instill healthy eating decisions, in a fun and meaningful way.
Solution to a Problem. According to the National Institutes of Health, 31.8% of children 2-19 years old are considered to be either overweight or obese. The good news is that The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that if kids receive 50 hours of cooking education before they are 12, it will change the way they think about food. However, many of the cooking courses we once had in school are being eliminated from schools due to budgetary demands, leaving teachers and their students without access to a kitchen.
That is why S&S has teamed up with Edible Education®!
One of the things that makes this program so unique is the Kitchen a la cart™. Kitchen a la cart™ is the first interactive, mobile culinary cart loaded with everything necessary to make it fun and easy for students to develop math, reading and team building skills via food prep. The companion curriculum contains nutrition facts as well as appropriately scaled, easy to follow, teacher guided recipes that show the importance of smart food choices, team work and following sequencing via cooking. These lessons are key to helping the next generation lead healthy, productive lives.

1. Kitchen a la Cart™
The first, interactive, mobile culinary cart that can turn just about any space into a dream space to teach hands on cooking lessons. Compact and sleek, the Kitchen a la Cart™ rolls through doorways into any room where the sides are then flipped up allowing for 10 students to chop, sauté and bake their way to fun and meaningful nutrition, food and cooking lessons. Tools & Accessories included: Ninja® blender and food processor, 10 each of student cutting boards, safety knives, peelers, whisks, small bowls, 2 Teacher chef knives, 2 large bowls, 2 mixing spoons, 2 spatulas, (1 turner / 1 baking), 2 baking pans, 2 muffin tins, 2 hot pads, 1 set of measuring cups and 1 set of measuring spoons, 1 liquid measuring cup, 1 large sauté pan, 1 small pot/lid, 1 large pot/lid, 1 colander, 1 thermometer, 1 can opener, 1 ladle, 1 grater, 1 pair tongs, a pitcher, 1 fire extinguisher, 2 extension cords.
2. Edible Education® Cooking Curriculum
This 12-month curriculum set is truly kid tested by over 22,000 elementary and middle school students. Beautiful pictures and easy to use lessons ranging in 15 minutes to 50 minutes are presented in a spiral bound book on water resistant paper. Each month features 2 seasonal foods with 4 to 5 recipes in each section, accompanied by history, science and health facts about each food. Worksheets and a teacher allergy chart are provided for your edible education experience. No nuts are used in any recipes, along with no additives, no artificial colors or ingredients. This is R.E.A.L. food (Refreshing, Energizing, Appetizing, and Local).
3. Edible Education® Stock Your Cart Expansion

Our Stock Your Cart offers additional culinary tools and accessories for add-on knowledge, fun, and the maximum foodie experience. Items come in a durable storage bin, so they can easily and conveniently be stored and accessed making them the perfect addition to your culinary program. All cooking utensils are BPA free and adhere to all US & FDA safety standards. Includes: 2 omelet pans & 1 medium pot and lid, 10 each of student pizza cutters, pastry brushes, apple corers, juicers,10 kid sized aprons & 2 adult aprons, 2 Silpat® baking liners and 1 stainless mixing bowl.
