Almost any materials can be used, but the ones listed above are common ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: Preparing Your Makerspace<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gather items suggested above and put limits on the quantities. See examples below:\n<ul>\n<li>Choose 12 items (have a list of 30 with specific limits: 10 straws, 8 craft sticks, 5 elastic bands). This makes designing their space craft important. &#8220;May the Force be with their choice&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Give each team or maker the same items (you can also allow for them to choose one or two additional) and have a musical theme ready so that makers can create a light show to go with it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Create CLEAR limits\/rules.
