Have\u00a0your group create their own prayer box to help them direct their thoughts and prayers, and become\u00a0closer to God.\u00a0Begin a discussion about what types of things we would ask God, and why we would confide in Him. This will help guide them with what to keep\u00a0in their prayer box, and to have faith that He is always listening.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to Make a Prayer Box <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Each\u00a0student can decorate their boxes in their own way. Here&#8217;s a list of materials to guide your craft activity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/color-me-boxes-CM201\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Color-Me Box<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/decorative-hues-paper-PE1835\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Decorative paper<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/basic-craft-supplies\/craft-trims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Assortment of craft trims<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/bag-ribbon-FA3236\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ribbon<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/basic-craft-supplies\/craft-trims\/gems-and-stones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gems<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/drawing-supplies\/markers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Markers<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/mod-podge-decoupage-finish-PT3242\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mod podge<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Color-Me boxes come in a pack of 12 and are perfect for this craft project because they are white and can be drawn on with marker without it smudging. There are many different ways to decorate a prayer box, but we used some simple\u00a0concepts for the two we made.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Flower Prayer Box<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This one is great for Spring! Use markers to draw flowers around the entire box. Place a gem for the center of the flower. Add craft trim around the edges.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7947\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/spring-prayer-box1.jpg\" alt=\"spring prayer box\" width=\"540\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purple Prayer Box<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mod podge decorative paper onto the top and sides of the box. Add craft trim around the edges.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7948\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/purple-prayer-box1.jpg\" alt=\"purple prayer box\" width=\"540\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inspirational Messages<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Encourage students to write an inspirational message on the outside of the box, to help remind them\u00a0the meaning behind their prayer box. For our boxes, we have these messages on the outside:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>&#8220;Prayer Changes Things&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>&#8220;You Can Talk to God Anytime, Because He&#8217;s Listening All The Time&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can also have them write a message inside:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inspirational quote: &#8220;<em>When your heart starts to worry and your mind just cannot rest, put your prayers down on paper and let God do the rest<\/em>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7939\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/prayer-box-quote1.jpg\" alt=\"prayer box christian\" width=\"540\" height=\"396\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A verse from the Bible: <em>Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you<\/em>. &#8211; Jeremiah 29:12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7938\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/prayer-box-bible-verse1.jpg\" alt=\"prayer box craft\" width=\"540\" height=\"386\" \/>Once their prayer box is complete, they will write down their prayers and place them inside the box for safe keeping. Each night, they will choose a prayer from the box and read it to God. You can also choose to have them keep it at the church if you have prayer time, that way each student is using their prayer boxes as a group. This may help them to get more used to the concept.<\/p>\n<p>This craft also makes a great gift for Sunday School teachers! Have your kids\u00a0decorate a prayer box with their teachers&#8217; favorite colors or theme. Include his or her name too! Then write down the names of all the students to keep inside the box.
