We encourage you to integrate these 4 ideas into your creative process.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PATIENCE<\/strong>: When creating a collaborative piece, people participating must be patient. The activity may not be completed in 1 day, or the way one person\u00a0envisions it. It also can\u2019t be rushed. A project like this is a great opportunity for those who may be a\u00a0little less patient, with some direction, to slow down and enjoy the creative process.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RESPECT<\/strong>: Everyone works at a different pace, likes different colors and artistic styles. A collaborative\u00a0piece allows everyone to participate, and each individual\u00a0must work together to make the finished piece a\u00a0success.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TEAM BUILDING<\/strong>: Working together as a team to create artwork is similar to how a sporting team\u00a0works together in a game. As the instructor, you are like a\u00a0coach, providing guidance and direction as needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>COMMUNITY<\/strong>: The group creating the piece is a small community, but the larger community benefits\u00a0from the finished artwork. Family and community members may see the artwork on display and\u00a0benefit from the interaction with the people who created it. The display of the finished piece helps\u00a0to create a positive community environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 125%; text-align: center;\"><strong>Collaborative Art Craft Kits\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Here are 3 of our collaborative art crafts that can be used for both kids and adults. These kits are great for classrooms, school contests, after-school programs, fundraising, teams, and any organization looking to promote team building and collaboration through creativity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 125%; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/color-me-quilt-FA3393\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Color-Me\u2122 Quilt<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our Our Color-Me\u2122 quilt craft kit comes with 25 blank fabric squares to decorate. There are so many possibilities for decorating.<\/p>\n<p>Here at S&amp;S, we gave\u00a0one\u00a0flower cutout to 25 different co-workers\u00a0and told them to color in their flower however they&#8217;d like. When they presented their pieces, it was so fun\u00a0to see how differently each flower was colored. Be sure to discuss the color theme or ideas with the group\u00a0ahead of time to make the painting activity run smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>At our arts and crafts training seminar, we had this group create their own Triptych Tree. They loved it!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5051\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Collaborative-Art-Training1.jpg\" alt=\"collaborative art \" width=\"640\" height=\"376\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 125%; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/imagine-peace-collaborative-craft-kit-GP3224\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Imagine Peace- Velvet Art<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This project is best for a group between 6-25 people. The group works together to color the velvet art words, which spell \u201cImagine Peace\u201d.\u00a0We suggest splitting your group into\u00a0smaller groups of 2 or more and having each small group decorate 1 of the larger velvet letters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5044\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Collaborative-Art-Craft-Kit-Imagine-Peace1.jpg\" alt=\"collaborative art craft kit\" width=\"1117\" height=\"745\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The kit comes with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Velvet Art Letters that Spell\u00a0\u201cImagine Peace\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Markers<\/li>\n<li>Glitter Glue<\/li>\n<li>Imagine Peace Writing Paper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may want to have the group talk about what colors they want to\u00a0use. Also, we do suggest either all letter borders get colored or they all remain white,\u00a0as it affects the legibility of the words once displayed. Or, you can let each small group determine\u00a0each letter design and see what happens!<\/p>\n<p>This craft can be\u00a0integrated into a larger lesson through Social Studies, Language Arts or Art. It comes with\u00a025 printed writing prompt sheets so that kids can complete a related writing exercise. For example, each person can\u00a0create a Haiku based on their interpretation of what they imagine peace\u00a0to be. A Haiku\u00a0is an un-rhymed poem in\u00a0three lines.
