So let&#8217;s embark on a roarsome journey into the world of crafting and unleash the wild creativity within!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Doilies<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/weaving-yarn-and-lacing\/yarn-and-thread\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yarn<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/fade-resistant-construction-paper-assorted-PE472\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Paper<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/wiggly-eyes-TR103\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wiggly Eyes<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/color-splashwhite-glue-GL601\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White Glue<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3759\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Materials-21.jpg\" alt=\"doily lion craft\" width=\"1044\" height=\"897\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 1: Use a pencil to lightly trace around the outer edge of the doily, making a circle on orange or brown construction paper. For this tutorial I\u00a0used orange construction paper. The circle should be about 4.5&#8243; in diameter (slightly larger than the doily).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3760\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/orange-circle1.jpg\" alt=\"lion craft for kids\" width=\"1171\" height=\"859\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Cut out the orange circle and set it aside.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Cut out a circle with yellow construction paper. The circle should be 1 inch smaller in diameter. Tip: To make the circle to size, use an extra doily and cut the center out. Then trace the circle onto the yellow paper.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3761\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Yellow-circle1.jpg\" alt=\"paper craft for kids\" width=\"1294\" height=\"819\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Glue the doily to the center of the orange circle, and glue the yellow circle to the center of the doily.<\/p>\n<p>Step 5: Cut a small triangle out of black construction paper for the nose. You can choose from a few different types of triangles. Glue the triangle to the center of the yellow circle.<\/p>\n<p>Step 6: Use a marker to draw a simple mouth. Then glue the wiggly eyes on each side of the nose.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3762\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/nose-and-eyes1.jpg\" alt=\"doily lion craft\" width=\"1152\" height=\"897\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 7: Cut a piece of yellow yarn, about 9 inches long. Unravel the yarn (it should unravel easily into 4 strands)\u00a0and arrange it in a circle around the face of the lion. This is his mane.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3763\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/yarn-mane1.jpg\" alt=\"lion paper craft\" width=\"1313\" height=\"897\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now you have an adorable doily lion! Create different colors and different nose shapes for each lion so they each have their own personality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3764\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Doily-lions1.jpg\" alt=\"crafting for kids\" width=\"1429\" height=\"692\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Mother&#8217;s Day Paper Craft &#8211; Doily Lion Card<\/h2>\n<p>You can also make this into a Mother&#8217;s Day craft! Use\u00a0a\u00a0sheet\u00a0of construction paper (I used orange to match the background) and glue the lion in the center. This is the &#8220;O&#8221; in Mom. Then use pipe cleaners to create\u00a0the letter\u00a0&#8220;M&#8221; twice. Glue those to each side of the lion to spell &#8220;MOM&#8221;. Then kids can spell out\u00a0something fun, like &#8220;I love you and I&#8217;m not lion&#8221; at the bottom with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/color-splash-foam-shapes-adhesive-abcs-pcs-AC756\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">foam letters<\/a>.
