Flowers also make a great craft for Spring and Mother&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong> (makes one flower approm.15 minutes)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/paper\/tissue-paper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tissue Paper<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; 12 pink sheets of tissue paper 20&#8243; x 30&#8243; (the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/value-tissue-assortment-PE1800\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">S&amp;S value pack<\/a> has three different shades of pink which adds texture to the finished product)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/basic-craft-supplies\/craft-tools\/scissors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Scissors<\/strong><\/a> (heavy duty is best)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/knitting-and-crocheting\/yarn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Yarn<\/strong><\/a> (1 piece at least 12&#8243; long)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Step 1: Stack all 12 sheets of tissue paper on top of each other.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Fold all the sheets together (width-wise) in 1 inch increments, like an accordion. Be sure to fold the paper on a hard surface so that it will crease easier.\u00a0Although you should try to fold each 1 inch row to be the same size, do not\u00a0worry too much\u00a0if each row varies slightly. It will not make a noticeable difference to the finished product.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Accordian-step1.png\" alt=\"Tissue paper flower - accordian step\" width=\"540\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Take the string and tie the tissue paper accordion together in the middle.\u00a0Tie a knot at the end of the remaining string so that you can easily hang the finished product on a hook or pin in the wall.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3478\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bow-step1.jpg\" alt=\"Bow step\" width=\"540\" height=\"386\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Cut the ends of the tissue paper accordion to make the &#8220;petals&#8221;.\u00a0It is easiest on your scissors and your hands if you only cut a few of the paper folds at a time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Petals-step1.jpg\" alt=\"tissue paper flower - petals step\" width=\"540\" height=\"403\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 5: Carefully pull each piece of tissue paper away from the center. Be gentle so you do not rip the paper.
