We were approached by our Kindergarten team asking us to help them with their Science Unit on Force in action. We thought it <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">would be a great connection to help support key vocabulary words and some fun activities too!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Grade Level:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">K-2; as with any activity, variations can be made to suit other grade levels<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Skills:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teamwork &amp; communication skills, pushing and pulling<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Equipment:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Station 1: Wall Push<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/active-play\/scooters-and-ride-ons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">scooter<\/a><\/strong> per student, 1 poly spot<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Station 2: Partner Pull<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/active-play\/scooters-and-ride-ons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>scooter<\/strong><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/coach-and-instructor-resources\/flags-cones-and-spot-markers\/spot-markers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poly spot<\/a><\/strong> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/jump-ropes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>long jump rope<\/strong><\/a> per group\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Station 3: Scooter Push<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/active-play\/scooters-and-ride-ons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>scooters<\/strong><\/a>, 3 milk crates, various weights (we used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/fitness-and-exercise\/free-weights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>dumbbells<\/strong><\/a>), 3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/coach-and-instructor-resources\/flags-cones-and-spot-markers\/spot-markers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>poly spots<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Station 4: Partner Pull Around Cones<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/active-play\/scooters-and-ride-ons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>scooter<\/strong><\/a>, 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/jump-ropes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>jump rope<\/strong><\/a>, 5 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/sports-and-pe\/jump-ropes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>cones<\/strong><\/a> per group<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Set-up:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this activity we divided our space into 4 station areas.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We decided to have 2 pulling and 2 pushing stations to give students plenty of practice and also plenty of space to practice those skills. We started each class with the introduction of the vocabulary words\/concepts and a demonstration of each station.
