Incorporating characters, props, and scenes from the movie into a P.E. lesson will help kids get excited and motivated. Learning new ways to get active is important in keeping &#8220;the force&#8221; with physical education!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Star Wars Pool Noodle Lightsabers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"OLK_SRC_BODY_SECTION\">A creative PE teacher by the name of Kevin Tiller used the lightsaber from the Star Wars movie to create this fun activitiy for his P.E. classes. Check out his <a href=\"http:\/\/physedreview.weebly.com\/equipment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Physed Review<\/a> website. Kids can create their own lightsaber using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/foam-play-and-pool-noodles-W15335\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>pool noodles<\/strong><\/a> and some <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/duck-tape-AS658\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">duct tape<\/a><\/strong>. Then they must challenge themselves to be Jedi knights and keep the balloons in the air. The force is strong with this one! This activity is trending in P.E. classes all across the world!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2297\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Pool-noodles-with-duct-tape1.jpg\" alt=\"star wars p.e. activities\" width=\"250\" height=\"334\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2298\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Balloons-with-pool-noodles1.jpg\" alt=\"pool noodles for star wars\" width=\"640\" height=\"478\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now kids can beat Kylo Ren from the new move Star Wars:The Force Awakens with their own deluxe lightsaber using <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/noodle-connectors-set-W12321\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Noodle Connectors<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>Check out our <strong><a href=\"\/blog\/physical-education-lessons-using-pool-noodles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pool noodle blog<\/a><\/strong> for more physical education activities using pool noodles!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Star Wars Throwing Game<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another great idea for a gym activity is from Carly, an Elementary P.E. teacher. To practice overhand and underhand throwing, the students pretend they are in space ship and have to throw balls into the other team&#8217;s space ship. She has some great video tutorials on how to set up these activities, materials she used, and videos of the students participating on her <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/carly3.blogspot.com\/2015\/05\/star-wars-throwing-game-and-relay-races.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8139\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Carlys-K-2-Star-Wars-1024x7651.jpg\" alt=\"star wars activities\" width=\"540\" height=\"403\" \/><strong>Star Wars Word Run<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This activity from Carolyn on The Pleasantest Thing combines running and reading. Kids have a \u201cmission\u201d to land on the each word and rescue it from the Empire. When you call out a word, they have to run and look for it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2304 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Star-Wars-Word-Run-by-Carolyn1.png\" alt=\"star wars physical exercise\" width=\"600\" height=\"225\" \/><strong>Star Wars Dance of the Storm Troopers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our friends at PE Central have shared this dance activity created by <strong>Brenda\u00a0Goodwin<\/strong> who teaches at Missouri State University. The dance stimulates the movement of the Storm Troopers. It teaches several skills including rhythm and memory. It is also really fun and gets the kids laughing and relating to the movie using dance. We love the slogan he came up with, &#8220;May the Fitness be with you&#8221; and how it motivates kids to do their phys. ed. warmups by using the Star Wars characters.
