\"christianWhen teaching children about faith and sharing stories from the Bible, it helps if they can have an activity that instills the messages they are learning. This Christian Craft Bracelet idea from Sunday School Network<\/a> involves stringing beads on jute or rawhide. Each bead color is related to a Biblical Truth. When children are done with each bead and message, you can help them tie off the end cord to fit their wrist.<\/p>\n

Approximate Time: 10 Minutes
\nAppropriate Ages: 8-15
\nMaterials\/Equipment needed:
\nCord such as jute<\/a>,\u00a0cotton cord<\/a>\u00a0or this elastic cord<\/a>
\nPony beads<\/a>: black, white, red, blue, green, and gold or yellow.<\/p>\n

Biblical Truths for each color:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Black = Sin<\/strong>
\nThe black bead reminds us of our sin which separates us from God and dooms us to eternal darkness. Romans 3:23 \u201cFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.\u201d (see also Ephesians 2:11-13)<\/p>\n

Red = Christ\u2019s Blood<\/strong>
\nThe red bead symbolizes Christ\u2019s\u2019 blood shed for you and me. Romans 5:8-9 \u201cBut God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us…we have been justified by his blood…\u201d<\/p>\n

White = Prayer of Repentance For Cleansing<\/strong>
\nThe white bead represents the cleansing that occurs when a sinner repents and turns to God. Psalm 51:1-2 \u201cHave mercy on me, Oh God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blue = Water\/Spirit Baptism<\/strong>
\nThe blue bead represents baptism. Ephesians 4:5 \u201c…one Lord, one faith, one baptism.\u201d We are baptized with water to identify ourselves with Jesus. The Holy Spirit baptizes those who trust in Jesus and takes up residence in the believers heart. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9<\/p>\n

Green = Christian Growth<\/strong>
\nThe green bead represents growth in our faith. Colossians 1:10 \u201cAnd we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…\u201d<\/p>\n

Gold = Eternal life<\/strong>
\nThe gold bead represents eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. John 3:16 \u201c For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d<\/p>\n
