<\/a><\/h2>\nHow to Use the Calendar For Your Program<\/h2>\n
We have listed the daily holidays or observances that fall on each day of the month. Some days have multiple holidays, so you can choose to focus on just one, plan an activity for each one, or combine them if possible.<\/p>\n
For example, April 2nd is National Walking Day<\/em>, April 6th is National Student Athlete Day<\/em> and and April 7th is World Health Day<\/em>. Have students play a fun game of tag (try a Star Wars theme<\/a>!) or tug of war to get them moving and increase their heart rate. You can also add a game of Dodge-It Tag<\/a> and other activities to encourage your group to get active and understand the importance of an active lifestyle and how to make it fun. Many programs also run a Field Day in April, which is a great time to get the energy level up for your group! This is also an opportunity to honor the athletes in your program.
