I have students choose their own group by giving them rules. They must have at least 1 boy and 1 girl in every group, and the largest group can only be 1 bigger than the smallest group.\u00a0 If the largest group is 5 students, your smallest can only be 4!<\/p>\n<p>Each group will have 2 of the same colored Frisbees. Each person will get 2 throws per turn. They will combine the points from both throws and write it down on the score sheet. Students will play 10 frames similar to bowling where they have 2 throws per frame. After both Frisbees are thrown, the student who threw them will sprint down to retrieve them and sprint back to their team without throwing them back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15721\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fast-Math-Frisbee1.jpg\" alt=\"Fast Math Frisbee\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 125%; text-align: center;\">Scoring<\/h2>\n<p>Each target is worth a different point value:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pins = 1 point<\/li>\n<li>Hula Hoops = 2 points<\/li>\n<li>Tall Cones = 2 points<\/li>\n<li>Disc Golf Cage = 3 points<\/li>\n<li>Disc Bonk Pole = 5 points<\/li>\n<li>Basketball Goal = 5 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fast-Math-Frisbee-Score-Sheet1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">view the printable Score Sheet here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15715\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fast-Math-Frisbee-Score-Sheet1.png\" alt=\"Fast Math Frisbee Score Sheet\" width=\"540\" height=\"415\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The game is over after all 10 frames have been played. ESPN sponsored their\u00a0Donor\u2019s Choose request and matched $4000 of the total cost. In\u00a0his\u00a03<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0year of teaching, Matt was selected by his\u00a0peers and received the Traditions of Excellence in Teaching award, then was chosen by the\u00a0school district to be put in the Teaching Honor Cadre. They have 30 schools in the\u00a0district and he was 1 of 12 chosen for the entire district. Matt also\u00a0started an after school running club.
