I used it for my\u00a0Fall storytime at Dripping Springs Community Library. First, I started out with a silly rooster puppet named Doodley Doo that told <a href=\"http:\/\/cdn.ssww.com\/share\/Fall_Jokes.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">silly jokes about Fall<\/a>. We also enjoyed a wiggly song called\u00a0<em>It&#8217;s Time to Stand Up &#8211; Come and Make a Circle 3<\/em>\u00a0by Susan Salidor.<\/p>\n<p>After sharing the picture books,\u00a0<em>Fall is Not Easy<\/em>\u00a0by Marty Kelley,\u00a0<em>Little Tree<\/em>\u00a0by Loren Long,\u00a0<em>Fall Mixed Up<\/em>\u00a0by Chris Raczka, and\u00a0<em>Sophie&#8217;s Squash<\/em> by Pat Zietlow Miller, we enjoyed a very fun craft time making Fall leaf people.<\/p>\n<p>After setting out the materials on the table, the only directions we gave the children was to have fun and make people using the leaves! The results were magical and exceeded my expectations for sure!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/paper\/construction-paper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction paper<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/elmers-washable-school-glue-GL626\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liquid glue\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/craft-trims\/wiggly-eyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Googly eyes<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Leaves (paper, fabric, and\/or real ones or a combo of all)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/drawing-supplies\/markers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Markers <\/a>or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/drawing-supplies\/crayons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crayons<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10452\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/leaf-paper-craft-fall1.jpg\" alt=\"leaf paper craft fall\" width=\"580\" height=\"553\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you are blessed to have real genuine gorgeous fall leaves where you live, then by all means use those! We are somewhat limited in the South, and most of our leaves on the ground are brown, so we used leaf diecuts and colorful fabric leaves for this project. Imagination and creativity know no limits with this craft, and all of the preschoolers came up with really unique projects. Some of the kids made leaf people, while others made leaf monsters. One of the 4 yr old boys decided to create his leaf family, while another I observed made a spooky tree and glued leaves on, and put 2 big eyes in the center of the tree. Even the youngest preschooler, at age 2, enjoyed gluing googly eyes on the leaves&#8230;ok, so he mostly enjoyed squeezing the glue bottle!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10456\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paper-craft-fall-leaves-1024x6471.jpg\" alt=\"paper craft fall leaves\" width=\"580\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Try this activity in your storytime program while the Fall seasons lasts!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>About the Author:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9146 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/ssww-blog.s3.amazonaws.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/lisa-baker-photo.png\" alt=\"church activities\" width=\"287\" height=\"248\" \/>Lisa Baker is\u00a0a retired 5<sup>th<\/sup>\/6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade teacher. She started her own business as a children\u2019s entertainer and storyteller, and entertained in local bookstores, churches, schools, events, and birthday parties for many years.
