This hands-on craft is easy to make, great for kids of all ages, and perfect for classroom parties, afterschool programs, or family craft time.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you\u2019re using a fresh pack of bright eggs or repurposing a few from your Easter festivities, this simple project transforms ordinary plastic eggs into a unique springtime activity in just a few easy steps.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/2-1-2-split-plastic-eggs-SL6324\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Plastic Easter Eggs<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/beads-and-jewelry-making\/cording\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elastic Cord<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/arts-and-crafts-supplies\/basic-craft-supplies\/craft-trims\/wiggly-eyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wiggly Eyes<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/sunworks-groundwood-construction-paper-PE1000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Paper<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/item\/x-acto-retract-a-blade-knife-TL47\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">X-Acto Knife<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Start by sorting out all of the long sides of the eggs &#8211; I used about 40. Save one short end for the snakes face. Next, feed thin elastic cord through the egg halves (if the eggs you have do not come with with a hole, you can use a thumbtack to create one on your own).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-105 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/snake4blog.jpg\" alt=\"snake4blog\" width=\"408\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/snake4blog.jpg 408w, https:\/\/www.ssww.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/snake4blog-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 408px) 100vw, 408px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve reached the desired length for your snake, cut each of the ends and create a double or even triple knot so that it doesn&#8217;t slip through the hole. Next place two wiggly eyes on the snakes face. Then carefully, using an X-Acto Knife create a small slit where the tongue will go.
