I'm certain I should have known better, but I thought a 12" ball would be bigger than this. They were not as tiny as the "mini" beach balls, but still quite a bit smaller than the "average" size. Also, there was nothing in the valve to keep the air in the ball while you sealed it, so it was nearly impossible to end up with a nicely inflated ball. Many of them lost lots of air overnight. They were brightly colored and OK for filling space when decorating, but I wouldn't buy them to use for an actual beach ball.
