We painted these and gave them as Mother's Day presents in my classroom. The kids (with varying artistic ability) all did a wonderful job. That's the great thing about these birdhouses. It doesn't really require that you know how to paint well. No matter how they're painted, they are beautiful when they're finished! We sprayed them with a shiny sealer at the end just so they'd last a little longer and we tied twine to the top to hang. They did take about an hour to assemble all the wooden pieces, but I did that part the night before. ***By the way these are bigger and better than a lot of the other company's birdhouses out there.

We used the birdhouse kits as a several-week project for the men's group at our nursing home. The men really enjoyed assembling and painting the birdhouses, some even made 2 or 3 of them!

Package says it includes everything you need, but once you open it, says you need sandpaper; wood glue would have been better that the white glue. Although the slots made it easier than having to glue all the pieces together, the pieces were difficult to push together (especially the roof pieces). The end result looks very nice, but staff members had to do the assembly as it was a bit too hard for our participants.

We used these as a craft project for the men at our nursing home. They enjoyed building the bird houses. Some of the boards did not fit together exactly, and this was frustrating for the men that were used to doing things in a quality way.
