This project looks beautiful when finished, but it takes quite a bit of time to get it started as the string is too fine and smaller hands had a difficult time with it.

Hang from a window that the sun comes thru if you can and enjoy the rainbows when the sun hits the sun catcher. Several of my friends asked for one when they saw mine. Makes a nice gift for someone hard to buy for. I added some charms and beads that I had and made each one a little different.

Great concept, but the younger kids had a very hard time threading and using the very thin floss. Worked better for middle schoolers, but still challenging.

Used at a day camp for young girls (entering 1st grade). We read the reviews first - about possibly needing fishing line - but we didn't. Our girls were able to easily thread the beads. Only had problem with one cross bar - one hole wasn't fully punched out. But otherwise, big hit.

We used this project with 260 3rd graders, and they loved it! Be sure to have plenty of adult helpers to tie knots, and you should be all set. One suggestion is to use another type of cord, line, or string for the final step - it's hard to feed the thin line included through the bar at the end. We also used heavier fishing line on the 2nd day for the whole project - much easier to tie.

Instructions say to thread string through metal stick AFTER vertical strings are already beaded and tied through it. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE! We did it before and temporarily taped the ends so it wouldn't come out. But the girls LOVED the beads-they were very pretty!
