Great outdoor project!! Need to add more alka seltzer than the directions call for,and make sure the stopper is in tight - shake it up prior to placing it in the cylinder. Can go up 2 stories high. However the paper cylinders and the cone paper are very temporary once they get wet. Use acetate instead of paper.

the rocket did not fly well at all. the base fell apart after a few uses. i would suggest switching to a rubber stopper with a flange at the top for a tighter seal and to prevent pushing stopper into the bottel

I was quite disturbed to find a used cigarette butt sealed into the shrink wrap of one of the boxes. Quality control needs improvement!

This project was used as part of a cub scout day camp with a space theme. The small paint tubs were great. The pearl paint was a hit. The rockets did go up about 10 feet when warm water was used. I would suggest making a template for the students to use to make the nose cone for the rocket.
