these sponges were recommended to apply gel stain..we were not successful with using with children--especially Kind thru 3rd grade. Be sure to wet first---also are very small..for price--better to use regular sponges and cut to children's hand size...basically just crumbled as children were pressing them too hard on wood project ...

The kids liked painting with the sponges. It went well with the sea theme. However, the kids didn't get to finish there 8x11 painting, because the sponges crumbled into pieces. Poor quality and very disappointing.
