P.E. Central Lesson Plan: Twist Tag
Prerequisites:The teacher should demonstrate how to do the twist. Students can practice by holding a towel (one end in each hand) and drying your back and grinding your feet on the floor.
Suggested Grade Level:3-5
Materials Needed:Music: The Twist by Chubby Checker;
Lesson Plan:Description of Idea
Choose 1-2 students to be "it". They will be given a tagging item (yarn ball, soft ball, etc.) and will attempt to tag other students who are moving about the gym using various locomotor movements designated by the teacher. If tagged they must stop and do the twist. They can get back in the game if another student that has not been tagged comes over to them and does the twist with them for a 3-5 count. Change taggers often.
