P.E. Central Lesson Plan: Pizza Tag
Prerequisites:Students must know how to tag safely and move safely in general space.
Suggested Grade Level:1-2
Materials Needed:2 White Fleece Balls per 25 students; 4 softee frisbees or poly spots per 25 students;
Lesson Plan:Description of Idea
Students given the white fleece balls are the taggers or the "mozzarella" cheese. When the signal is given all students carrying a white fleece ball try and tag those students without a ball. If a student is tagged, he or she must freeze and stand with their palms facing up. The students with the frisbees or poly spots must carry the "pizza" balancing it in the palm of their hand and flip it to someone else's hand who is frozen. The person who receives the "pizza" or frisbee/poly spot is now the freer. Play two or three minutes and then switch taggers.
The polyspot/pizza could be carried in a different way or on a different body part.
Use different locomotor movements.
