I have made six or seven trays to give as gifts. Some I stained and glued buttons all over the bottom of the tray. Some I painted and decopaged. On others I used scrapbooking paper to personalize with a family name and the year the family was established. I've even used leather scraps and made "tiles" by covering squares of foam core poster board with the leather, then glued the "tiles" to the tray. Very classy looking.

We use these trays to make small topographical maps. The depth of the tray where the handles are is a bit shallow, otherwise they are excellent for our purposes. We also use them to display items. The trays tend to arrive broken, but are easily mended - we tap the nails/staples back into place after adding some wood glue. They hold up *excellently* from there on out. Overall, this is very good quality for a very low price - I'll take these small defects any day!
