I help with Arts and Crafts at a Girl Scout summer day camp. We have a unit of staff children that was mostly young boys, ages 3-4. I had them color the snake with markers, and they had a great time. They love the way these snakes move, and it gave them something to play with when craft time was over. They spent about half an hour coloring. My daughters (9 and 11) tested the snakes out and made examples for me. They, too, enjoyed it. One of their snakes even scared some of the camp staff! I'm sure painting them would be better, but I thought, given the ages of the children, that markers would be better.
