This handheld puzzle gives students an opportunity to discover and visualize the reasoning behind one of the classic and most accessible proofs by rearrangement for the Pythagorean Theorem. The Pythagorean Theorem states that in a right triangle the square of the length of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs. The hypotenuse is the side opposite the right angle and the legs are the sides adjacent to the right angle. The Pythagorean Theorem Tile Set helps understand and helps students demonstrate this using a 6” x 10” frame, 11 foam tiles, and teachers’ guide with activities.
