This assortment of feathers comes just as described above. I think that many of these feathers come from the belly area of the bird and therefore, are shorter than wing feathers. These are a lot "fluffier" than wing feathers, and have a nice natural color and texture. These would be great for a "feather boa" look where you have a lot of short fluffy feathers - as opposed to long wing feathers (like the ones used in old feather quill pens). This pack offers a great value with a nice variety of sizes in each color. You will find a few of the longer wing feathers in the pack but it is mostly (in my package at least) the shorter - fluffier feathers. A word of warning to those with allergies. If you suffer from allergies (like me), there was a lot of "fluff" in the package - so be prepared for this when you open it up (trust me - sneezing with a pile of these feathers in front of you will result in a great youtube video).

Great to add to multi-cultural dolls when "dressing" native Americans. Also great for crafting local birds.

Wanted these for Cub Scout projects and crafts but were too flimsy and small - boys are a bit rough with things - but the colors were perfect - wish they had more sturdy feathers in this color line. Would be great for decorative accents but would fall apart if handled too much.

I used these feathers for a Summer Art class with children from ages 6 to 13 years. The main project with these were to make dreamcatchers, however they were also used for decorating other projects. They were great. They were a good size and firm. Other types of feathers were too small and tended to breakapart.

We have used these feathers for a variety of projects at our museum. They are much better quality (and price) than feathers we purchased from other art supply companies.
