We had a difficult time gluing the beads to the dowel because of the shape of the beads. It was difficult getting the wire to stay attached to the dowel so we ended up using pipe cleaners that could be wrapped around the dowel and stayed in place. The beads could be threaded onto the pipe cleaners. We didn't use the paint on the dowels as we would have needed more time to wait for the paint to dry. Everyone thought the craft as we adapted it was very fun. Better sample pictures would have been helpful as well.

Although these look like they would turn out very pretty they were not easy to put together. We could not get the wires to stay on the stakes despite trying different methods. Definately not something younger kids could do. Many sharp edges as well.
