I am an art specialist in a camp with 15 years experience. I did this project with 10-15 year olds, but could probably do it with 8-9 year olds too. We did not follow the templates given. I like the children to be creative. I did not receive any transfer mesh and am not sure what that is. I had the children trace the mold and plan their project on paper. I mixed the cement and poured, they smoothed and placed their stones within the cement. I also purchased many other glass pieces and tile. The results were fabulous!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
