This product is used to cover tables with collages on display. It's also used to make homemade pictures. The contact paper makes a wonderful "glass pane". It's easy to clean and extremely durable.

This is a must-have for protecting students' nameplates on their tables, so when they put their chairs up their nameplates don't get bent/ripped/smashed. It's also useful for covering anything you want to strengthen, protect, or waterproof. Since my school does not have a working laminator, this is the next best thing.
