These were large enough to allow the kids who like to draw to put in detail, while small enough to work for the kids who wanted to color in the entire space. I used them for 4th-8th grade day camp crafts, and about half went home with the kids while the other half is tied into a quilt that is on display in the craft room. The cording did not come pre-cut, but there was plenty of length and it was easy to tie. The fabric was too thin to use both sides, but not so thin that the tables were marked up (we used fabric markers). If I was using this with younger kids it would have been perfect for handprints, especially to make a display for open house and then take it apart and send home with each student. I recommend getting nearly twice as many squares as kids, because having a clean square between each piece of art gives it a more professional look.

This quilt is perfect for our residents with dementia. Each resident in our dementia neighborhood made their own square with permanent markers. We can wash it easily and they each enjoy looking at all the different squares.

This project was so easy to do that even the Great-grandchildren were able to contribute to my Mother's birthday quilt. It is a priceless heirloom in our family. We choose to sew it together rather than tie together, so we used fusable web behind the openings for the ties to prevent unraveling. It was a great project everyone enjoyed

As each square is unique, it is a great way to build unity within a group. Allows for each child to be themselves as yet allows for the group to be united in the quilt.
