It is teacher created and student developed with a "instructor and kid friendly" approach giving parents and teachers tools they can use as soon as materials arrive at your door. It's that easy! Fun food characters, called Fitness Pals, illustrate each 5- to 10-minute sequential activity. The program, designed for children ages 2 to 12, teaches 5 health-related physical fitness components - Body Composition, Strength, Aerobic Fitness, Flexibility and Endurance (bSAFE). Aligned with the CDC's Division of Adolescent Health Guidelines and uses the newly designed USDA MyPyramid.gov website as a major reference for nutritional information. Provided are ideas for formal and informal assessment, curriculum infusion, multicultural teaching, inclusion, and family and community involvement.
