BONE ZONE
What makes our bodies have the form that they do? Kids learn about the skeletal system by building their own skeleton as they sing about the bones that are connected. After building the skeleton, kids learn about the building blocks of our bodies from the inside out by constructing a model of a bone. They then help Gizmo put his body together by creating a pop-up folder made up of organs and bones.

- Organ Punch-Outs (Heart, Lungs, Brain, Intestines)

Take Home: Skeleton, Bone Model, Bone Zone Tagboard.

GET A GRIP
Bones may be the structure behind our bodies, but what makes them move? Kids learn about the major groups of skeletal muscles and how they work together to control body movement. Concentrating on the muscles connected to the bones within the arm, kids build a movable bicep and tricep out of K'Nex®. Lastly, kids use the muscles in their hands to "get a grip" on a stress ball.

HEART SMART
There's a reason for that lub-a-dub sound coming from our chests! Kids learn about the journey of blood cells by following one as it makes its way through the heart. They learn what a pulse represents and how to take it. Using real stethoscopes, kids listen to their hearts. They also build their own version of a stethoscope.

LUNG POWER
The heart may help blood circulate throughout the body, but where does the oxygen become attached to the blood cells? Kids learn about the structure of their lungs and the important role these organs play. Lung capacity is discussed. By determining their own lung capacity and playing a game of Air Ball, kids also determine the best ways to increase their lung power.

Materials
- Plastic Straws
- Air Ball Cardboard
- Ping Pong Balls
- Air Blowers
- Air Socks
- Air Sock Challenge Dittos

Take Home: Air Ball Game, Air Sock, Air Blower.

THE FOOD PYRAMID
We are bombarded with food advertisements every day, from TV to radio. But how do we know which foods are best for our bodies? Kids learn about the different food groups and how the USDA's Food Pyramid categorizes these groups. The Catch That Food! game teaches kids to quickly identify foods within a food group. A food label is then analyzed to determine health information per serving. Lastly, kids mix their own fitness water to aid in hydration.
