I don’t know about you, but I love pineapples! Not only are they delicious, but they are an adorable fruit and perfect for inspiring a fun summer craft. I saw a mini pineapple in the grocery store and it gave me a great idea – a Pineapple Mason Jar! It can be used just for decoration or even as a night light. How cute would a pineapple night light be?
Materials:
- Mason Jar
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
- Black Sharpie
- Green Acrylic Paint
- Mod Podge
- Yellow Tissue Paper
- Green Construction Paper
Step 1: Start by cutting about one inch square strips of your yellow tissue paper (you will need a bunch!) Modge Podge the strips all over the mason jar. You can overlap as much as you’d like depending on how translucent you’d like the jar to be. Set jar aside to dry for 3-5 hours.
Step 2: Paint the mason jar lid with your green paint. Set aside to dry.
Step 3: Cut out about 10 leaves (all different lengths) from your green construction paper and fold bottom side about half an inch. Hot glue the folded side onto the top of the lid.
Step 4: Draw little u’s all over the jar with your black sharpie.
Pretty easy right? This craft is almost fail-proof, which makes it perfect for just about any age group. Either place on your desk or bookshelf, or add a faux tea candle and use as a night light.
Enjoy your Pineapple Mason Jar!
